Alpine Legal Services offers a spectrum of legal support for our clients from referrals to direct representation in court. In service to our mission, we aim to help the largest number of people possible who meet our eligibility criteria. However, we also have a finite capacity, which means we dedicate our limited resources to the most urgent cases first. Urgency is determined primarily by assessing the threat level to our clients’ health and safety and our clients’ access to financial and other supportive resources.
The balance between offering free legal assistance to as many people as possible and addressing urgent needs is a constant challenge, which speaks to the value of our organization and how essential our services are to the Aspen to Parachute region of Colorado.
Priority is given to those with greatest social and economic needs as follows:
1. Protection Orders
2. Modifications of Custody Orders as a Result of Protection Order
3. Divorce or Custody Orders Involving Domestic Violence
4. Guardianships and Conservatorships for children or at-risk adults
5. Estate Planning (Simple Wills, Powers of Attorney, Medical Directives) for Seniors
Depending on the specifics of your legal case, Alpine Legal Services may be able to help. We provide the following programs and legal services to people who live or work between Aspen and Parachute, Colorado.
