Family Law Day

Held at the Garfield County Courthouse in April and October of each year, this event provides free consultation, mediation, forms assistance, and parenting classes for self-represented litigants in the 9th Judicial District.  Call 970-945-8858 to inquire about the next scheduled date for this event. 

Senior Law Day

Held in October of each year, this event provides free legal information concerning legal issues faced by older adults.  Topics include probate, powers of attorney, living wills, estates, trusts, guardianships, conservatorships, common scams, fraud, and planning for long-term care.  One-on-one attorney consultations are also provided.  Call 970-945-8858 to inquire about upcoming dates and registration. 

Ask a Lawyer

Free 15-minute consultations with an attorney are provided at all 8 library branches from Aspen to Parachute from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m once a month.  This event is offered at the Rifle, New Castle, Glenwood Springs and Carbondale library branches on the second Wednesday of each month, and is offered at the Parachute, Silt, Basalt and Pitkin County library branches on the second Thursday of each month.  No advance registration is required; first come first serve.  

Conozca Sus Derechos (Know Your Rights)

On the last Wednesday of each month, tune in to local radio station KDNK at 5:30 a.m. to hear a discussion about fundamental legal rights in Spanish.   Visit our Facebook page or visit "Charlando con Crystal" on KDNK's website for current and previous recordings of this segment. 

Sworn Financials Clinic

On the second and fourth Monday of each month (with exception of holidays) a Sworn Financials Clinic is offered to self-represented litigants who need assistance completing their sworn financial forms for their family law case.   Call 970-945-8858 to inquire about the next scheduled date for this program.
